I am looking for a harmonic balancer for a 1968 1030. I am posting for my brother-in-law. We need to find one quick and I have no idea where to go.

Thanks for any leads.

Sorry, don't have any leads at this time...

But do have some serious advice >>> I'm sure it may be common knowledge and certainly logical to replace a loose crankshaft pulley/balancer as soon as it's realized it's bad! When it happened to me on a 2470 504TD engine it ruined the crankshaft. After much searching I found a used pulley assembly. Pulled the engine, removed the crank and had a machine shop repair the crank. This $1450 repair also failed within 10 hours of use, which damaged the crank beyond repair.
Permanent repair lead to a re-do with good used crankshaft and mating pulley, for $1975, which came from a later model 504TD. The pulley/balancer was much larger/heaver and now the engine runs noticeable smoother. Certainly a major/costly repair plus $280 bottom-end bearings and seals.
The advice... make sure your crankshaft nose is perfect before you simply replace the pulley with another used one. When I did those repairs I bought a Case service manual and in the tune-up section it states: (in BOLD print) to replace the pulley soon after 1500 hours of operation and before 2000 hours. This tells me that the early 6 cylinder Case engine dampeners were not reliable so the later pulleys were re-designed.
