After going to the fairs this fall and watching some of the tractor pulls, my son thought that we might want to pull the old Case 600 out of the bushes and rig it up to compete. It has hte fluid drive and is gas. Has anyone pulled one of these? It doesn't have a 3 pt hitch or power steering so it doesn't have much use on the farm anymore. Watching the tractors pull, it seemed the ones with the narrower tires, the fluid drive, and foward weight seemed to do better. Any advise? Thanks

A friend of mine pulls with a 400 diesel he added quite a bit of weight to keep the tires from slipping but he does pretty good now runs 1,2 or 3 in most pulls. Walt

Hey Mapelridge That old C.O.M. will be a great puller unless the officials remember back in the day at the county fairs when they had the drawbar to drawbar pulls and the Cases always pulled the competition backward while their tires were spinning forward. They used to disquallify them because they they made the red and green tractors look so bad. Good luck, Harry Case, Allis, Moline nut

Yes, a 600B. 4 cylinder gas. I believe it has the same engine as my old dozer (350?) and my 530 backhoe loader. I know the PTO unit is the same as the 630 (641?) diesel because I swapped it on a really good hay day and the clutches started to slip.

This must be a 600B series tractor???. The 600 was built in 57 only and had a 6 cylinder diesel or a propane 6 cylinder. The 600B series had 4 cylinder engines. Tire size depends on the track.
