I've got a 1957 Case 400 Super diesel that I'm trying to restore. I'm missing the eagle emblem to the front of it. Where can I find one? Also was there a 1958 Case 400 super diesel? My dad says that it is a 1958 400 super diesel, but it looks just like the 1957. Its model number says 401. If it is a 1957, I need to find a owners manual.

Scott: If you are restoring your "super", I would suggest purchasing a CASEIH parts catalog # A577. It covers the model 400 tractors S/N 8106131 & after.

Scott,

The serial number confirms it is a 400 Super. Most references show these being made only through 1957, but I wasn't there. If you have an owner's manual for a Super you should be all set.

Mine is a 400 (not super) and still has the original medallion that definitely looks 50 years old!

I purchased an "eagle emblem" for my 400 Super from Roger Hornbaker from Williamsport, MD (301-223-9005). Roger has two quantity levels for his emblems. I spent the extra $$ for the top-of-the-line version, and I believe it is par with the originals.

400 Supers were only built for three months in 1957.

John that retail is for a reproduction. Originals that are in as excellent shape as the one on E-bay are very rare. The repos are good but if you put an original and a repo side by side, you can definately see the quality in the original. Drummond I guess it's choice on your restoration, and how original you want it. Good luck, those are beautiful tractors, in my opinion the best looking tractors Case made.
