Need help with the alingment of the 2 variable speed pulley's on my 1737. Just purchased cheep because the pulley on gear box came off. The set screw and key came loose is all that was wrong. The belt was ruined (all tore up on one side) so ordered a new one. I was wondering how these two pulleys should be alinged when there is no belt on? It looks like the upper pulley may have slid on the shaft. also the way the belt was wore I thought I should check the alingment out. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Corey

Your Problems have Re:1737 case uniloader variable speed pul in reply to Corey J Gerry, 10-29-2007 18:22:15
Your Problems have ONLY just begun. I had one of these loaders and while it was working it was a wonderful machine to use, but that pulley is the down fall of that machine. Once you have problems with it they will never end. The alignment and it coming loose is a CONSTANT problem. More than likely the reason it is loose is that the shaft from the gear box that the inner core of the pulley is tightened too is worn tapered, NO DOUBT! This is an expensive machine to buy parts for. Check the little hyd cyl that works the pulley runs straight or wobbles. The belt was more than $150 too right. If you use this machine much get used to buying them, from Case others wont last, get the cross shaft on zippers too. Then keep your wrenches that you need for this machine in a special box because you will need them often. Get used to working in that hole. Your next problem will be steering and that is a clutch problem. All 4 of them. If the belt runs good and it dont steer well that is a clutch problem. A NEW set of clutch discs for this loader will cost near $1400. There are 2 styles of packs and clutches for it too. One has 3 bearings the other is 4 bearings. I dont know if there is a better of the 2 but early models have the 4 bearing packs. Also if it is a gas model bring a bank account for fuel. Cause this loader for the amount of work it does is the most fuel thirsty machine I ever used bar none!! And GOOD LUCK you will need a lot of it for this machine! ;((
