Was going to continue on old post but not everyone use's the new format.

I thought about just doing a quick fix as I found more cracks in the pto housing. I made some studs, screwed them in as tight as I could with out them stripping.

I then took some jb weld and tried to reform the bolt holes.

Where it was broken out bad I mixed steel wool to help as a filler.

I wished I would have used steel wool on the inside first as the jb weld started to run. I had someone stop by to look at a tractor and when I came back the jb started to run. Left the stud kinda bare.

Went back out the next day and mixed up some more and added some steel wool to it.

Think it would have been better if I done it with steel wool the first time. made the gasket out of some extra thick gasket material and was ready to put it on. I thought about rinsing out the pto when I noticed mik shake oil in it. I drained the hydraulics and it was baddddd. It wasn't draining very fast so I stuck my finger in the hole and felt a piece of loose metal.

Since the oil was so bad I decded to pull the hydraulic filter. I wasn't surprised as I didn't find one. I was surprised with what I found. Some of the pieces I recongnize, others I don't.

Looks like I might be better off using this one as a parts tractor and using the parts to get my DC-4 going. Will clean things up, close it up and list it for sale. then if it doesn't sell take the engine and put it in my DC-4.

Any takers
