I have 1919 Crossmotor 22-40 case that is said to be the first in this area. Most case tractor books that I read say that only 2 were built in 1919. One other says that 20 were made. Regardless, mine has serial number 32788, and I was wondering if anyone has any more information as to if this was one of the first two built, or one of the first 20. Any info will help tremendously. Also, like everyone else, my manifold is destroyed, and help finding one would be great. Thanks

If you have access to the Magazine Engineers& Engines the April Issue of 1982 has a list of serial numbers and there relationship to production not sales. 32634-32840 lists the first 22-40"s, they also built several 20-36 prior to this but that production was stopped I would assume in favor of the 22-40, good luck finding a manifold, I was at a sale in Nebraska years ago bought all of the parts and pieces to one plus the tractor had one on it, I heard some one in europe was making them the cost was pretty high but considering the last sale price of a 22-40 it is almost affordable

Glen, Thanks for the info. I sure wouldn't mind buying a reproduction manifold, yet the problem is that I don't plan on ever selling the tractor, so in my current financial state, it will be tough to spring for one. Do you know of any 20-36 tractors out there? I would love to see one, as all that I have seen have been in Case Archive pictures..

One Sold out of the Oscar Cooke Collection in Montana I believe. it has been underground ever since and has not been shown in any magazines that I know of, If the Case Clubs ever go back to having a show on that side of the US I have to believe we would see quite a few things that have been hidden in a while

I have parts of 2 tractors.... a 22 40 & a 25 45. I have one good manifold & will need another when I find a few more engine parts. On the internet I found Geldof tractors Belgium... They advertised Air washers (1300 euros ) and manifolds (3400 euros ) a bit more than I can spend but at least ther is a possibility. ( Link ) Does anyone know what seals will work on the cylinder liners . I am looking for all four wheels and more engine parts Les in Salem Oregon
