I used to have a couple of Case 500's but sold them as parts tractors because at the time I didn't have a good place to work on them. Decided to find me a running one, went to auctions and they always brought more than what I wanted to spend for one. Then one of the sales guys showed me pictures of one that he had a chance to buy. Well the company didn't want the old tractors so another guy bought them and I ended up buying it from him. I bought if off the word of the grandsons previous owner, truck driver that hauled it, truck drivers son, and they all swear it purrs like a kitten. He also had a 900B but the grandson said the 500 always out pulled it. Since I already have 3 900's I passed on it. Been to cold to start it so I haven't heard it run yet. Looks as good as it does in the pictures.

Ande,

We been lucky on the show, just enough to keep the dust settled. I used tio live in town 15 miles away. I never realized the difference in temps. We had about 5 degrees this morning and by the time we got to town it 25. Last weekend we were in town and it was 32 degrees, when we got home it was 4. Can't complain as it makes the Christmas decorations look nice. See my post Case D and JD Spreader. Keep yours ears and eyes open as some neighbor may have one stuffed in a shed. Visit with old timers as they may know where one is. Good Luck! Thanks for the reply.

Trina,

Thats my 59 Case 910B (900B LP). I was surprised it started. It was in an open shed and she fired right up. I love pulling it and should have some pictures some where with it pulling. Thanks for the reply.

Think it warmed up to about 20 today with no wind. Left rear tire seems to leak and I think it was the valve core. Went to change it and ended up putting a new valve in the tube. Time will tell. Decided it was time to unload it. Fired up the ole 910B to pull it off with. My partner in life has a hard time with foot clutch but she's good on the hand clutch. Besides I call the 910B her tractor.

910B getting ready to pull the 500 off.

Was going to pull it over to the shop to finish airing up the tire. Breaking it to lead.

What the heck, will see if the old girl will run as good as everyone has told me. I put it into gear and by the time we got to the other side of the shop it was running.

The 500 was running a bit rough at first, but began to smoth out in no time. Time to unhook and let it run on it's own.

Can't wait till spring to try it out with some plowing and disking.

That's a beauty, I would love to hear it run also. I know what you mean about to cold to start. My LA remains in storage untill spring.

Nice looking tractor. I had a 500 in the early 70s. It had rice tires and it would go through just about anything. Bad thing about it was, it took 40 acres to turn it around. I needed a bigger tractor so, I traded it off. That was one of my more stupid moves. Wish I had it now.

Well all I can say is..... You Lucky Bum!

I'm an pretty dedicated unstyled guy but the 500 is on a short list "modern" tractors I'd sure like to own.

RobertTX let me and ol Schotte test drive his 500 a few years ago and they're sweeeeet machines, purr like kittens!

She's a beauty. The 500 may just be one of my favorite Case tractors of all time. I spent a lot of time on one growing up. Now the 2 we had are sitting in a shed, haven't been used in at least 15 years. Seeing those pictures makes me want to pull those tractors out and get them running again.
