Case Losing Power When Warm

I have a Case tractor, with an inline 4 diesel. When it gets warm it begins to lose power and then it just dies. It acts like it is running out of fuel. We replaced the fuel filters. The return lines from the injectors are leaking, so i'm not sure if this is where the air is entering the system once it warms up. I'm just looking for some ideas. I'm hoping its not the injector pump. What my plan of attack is so far is replace the injector return lines, and then drain the fuel tank and clean it out, i'm wondering if maybe some trash is getting stirred up and clogging the pickup tube.

Hi Tim ,, IWould bet that it is the garbage in the tank ,, Get it off and flush it real good ,, I like to capture what come out of there for curiosity sake . Do not forget to blow out the feed lines ,and return lines also .. The return line leaks could be a problem depending on which tractor pump you are running , My 800 Case will run with leaks on the return line,My 4020 deere Will act stupid and really Mess with You if the return line is plugged., Bottom line" Dirt Is The Problem " .. Happy New Year " Jim

I did see some junk in the tank. I'll be sure to post model number and the info off of the injector pump as soon as i go get it.

Tim,

Assorted junk in the tank can cause a problem like you have described (among other things). Have you tried looking in the tank with a strong flashlight to see what"s floating around? Every old tractor I"ve bought so far had junk in the bottom of the tank...

Larry

Tim, you need to be way more specific as to what tractor you have, Case has used roosa master, american bosch, german bosch and cav pumps and maybe a few more along the way and they all have their own peculiarities Please post the tractor model and if possible the data off the inj pump itself.Without the model of the tractor at least we're lost , sorry
