I was taking the old seat off the 931 today in preparation for a new-to-me one, and I found a NEW control! It is down on the floor next to the hydraulic control stand, and consists of a thin strap of sheetmetal with a pull ring curled onto the end. The other end is connected to a lever on top of the rearend, which appears to operate a spool of some sort that has a spring connected to it, which pulls the spool forward when you let go of the pull ring. What in the heck IS this? Could this be my missing differential lock, or is it some hydraulic accessory with which I am unfamiliar? Help! KY Jim

10-4 on the Draft-O-Matic adjustment. I noticed it had several holes drilled in the floorplate and the screw and nut arrangement seemed to match perfectly with these holes, so I sort of thought that might be what it was. Always like to make sure, though, to avoid ripping something EXPENSIVE out. Never knew anyone who had a Case of ANY kind, one neighbor had a David Brown, that's how I learned DB hydraulics are usually junk. Also why my dealer couldn't sell me one. Everyone else had Fords. We started out with WD-45 Allis, moved up to Long 360 Diesel. Long is a good little tractor, damned good for Foreign stuff. We love the stuffin's out of our 930. It's HUGE! Way too much for what we have, but I LIKE Overkill. A LOT. Thanks, KY Jim

That is the sensitivity adjustment for the Draft-o-matic.

can you detail that a little bit more? in reply to Butch/OH, 02-03-2008 17:24:25
So it's a control lever. What exactly does it do to the draft control? Thanks

With the draft control shut off, the lift arms will stay where you have them set at whatever the load is. When the draft control is turned on, the lift arms will raise up a little if you hit a tuff spot in the field and then return to where they were set at. This will allow you to get through without downshifting gears. You have several settings on the lever to allow how much hitch movement or constant depth you want if you are plowing.
