Help: No oil coming to the steering hydralic filter(red wrapper). Therefore I've got no steering and the power shift doesn't work right (wants to back up all the time). Hydralics work good just no steering. Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

The 8 gpm portion of the main pump on the rear has failed, replace with a reman or new pump, the oil comes directly from the pump to the filter, the return oil from the steering does functions in the power shift valve so all your problems are connected, keep us posted. mEl

Is that the portion that the big line and the little line hook to? There is lots of high pressure on the big line, but none on the little line. Sorry we don't know our tractors that well. Is there just the one pump on the rear?

yes there should be flow from both lines, that is the supply pump for all systems onboard, the large line is the Trans, hyd , the small is steering, brakes, but they are a bit interconnected as return oil from the steering pump sets up a 75 lb regulator which works the reverse lockout. When you change the pump be careful not to cut the oring(get a new one when you get the pump and gasket) on the feed tube that is in the charge pump, i dull the sharp edge with a grinder and then wire brush to smooth use grease and rock the pump gently till it slips into place,Pre lube the pump so it don't start dry, dump oil in the tube and turn over till it comes out the fittings
