Well, this week I got the rewireing done on the VAC for the alternator setup. Let me know if I got it right. I think I did.
I appreciate all yall's help and I will post a video of it running once that day gets here. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. We'll see.

Thanks everyone. I will move the black wire with yellow connector up to the "hot" side of the starter switch. I knew I could count on yall. We'll get this thing going if it hare-lips the devel, won't we!?

as previously mentioned the wire from the ammeter should be moved to the battery cable post , not on the one to the starter, also unless you have a special alternator it looks like the ammeter is going to read backward as wired, if it does, as the other post said change the wires from side to side on the meter, also as previously mentioned before by the other gent, I use voltmeters, they tell more about system conditions, Nice neat job!!!!! mEl

TRACTOR WONT RUN THE WAY YOU HAVE IT WIRED NOW. THE ALTERNATOR HAS NO WAY TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. YOUR BLACK WIRE WITH THE YELLOW CONECTOR NEEDS TO BE MOVED UP TO HOT SIDE OF BATTERY CONNECTOR ??? THIS IS THE WAY I SEE IT my 2cents worth// . we always run a volt meter instead of ammp meter told to by a alternator rebuilder ?? good luck I love a good vac.

There should be only ONE wire on the side of the ammeter that's fed power from the mech. starter switch.

Battery power goes to one side of the ammeter, and ALL loads and the alternator's output go to the other ammeter terminal.

(IF the ammeter reads backwards, swap the connections between it's two terminals.)

Bob, I will also move the feed to the light switch to the other side of the ammeter. I looked in skipjack's files there on imageevent and saw how the original was wired. I see now how all the feeds come from that one side of the ammeter. I missed that before. Good catch! I will look around for a cheap voltmeter too. I bet I can find one somewhere pretty cheap. Say you like them better than the ammeter, huh?
Thanks a bunch!

Nice looking wiring job ..... kinda hard to see in the photo but where are you tying to the battery? It looks like there is a black wire (w/yellow terminal) coming off of the ammeter that's going to the 'cold' side of the starter switch instead of the 'hot' side or am I just seeing (or maybe 'NOT' seeing) things?
