It is time for me to bite the bullet and get new rear tires for my 49 LA. It has 15x30 Firestones. Can I still get that size, have they changed the size numbers, etc? The couple of tire companies I've contacted here in Okla think I've totally lost my mind when I tell them 15x30 size. Any help would be appreciated.

My LA has 18.4 X 30 on it to replace the 15 X 30

14x30's are now 16.9x30's and 15x30's are 18.4x30's.

That is the old numbering system. They are now 16.9 x 30 or possibly 18.4 x 30.

The 15 refers to the rim width by the old numbering system. The 16.9 x 30s use the 15" rim.

Sorry but the 16.9 uses the 14" rims the 18.4 uses the 15" rim. I have both of them on two different tractors.

A neighbor of mine has an International W-400 that has 16.9x30's on it. I compared his Int'l to my LA side by side today and the 18.4x30's is what I'll need. The 16.9's are a size too small.
