I"m looking at buying a case 450 loader serial number 3027860. I believe if my research is correct that that makes it a 1965. Can anyone tell me the horsepower of this machine? If its a good running machine is it something worth purchasing? I"m looking to clear some land I own possibly digging a couple of small ponds. I realize it wouldn"t be something I would be able to do overnight but time I"ve got. I currently have an oliver oc-46 but it doesn"t have much power. any info is appreciated!!!

I had one and I used it for digging, grading, etc.It was a great machine. The undercarriage was worn and no brakes, but it had plenty of power, I couldnt stall it. It was good for getting in tight spots and was one tough machine for its size. I put a new track adjuster on cause I kept losing the track. It had new sprockets and front idlers at one time. I was really impressed with it.

be careful buying a crawler especially if its cheap, have a professional check the undercarriage to see what shape the rollers track rails sprockets final drives and upper carrier roollers are in also how much adjustment is left in the tracks. Not sure of the hp probably in the area of 60. If good it is a great crawler for its size.
