the L series had a problem with snap ring breakage in the modulator plunger bore, the broken pieces will jam up the plunger and not allow the pressure buildup to engage the clutches. There is a special snap ring installation tool required to install the new ring as it is deep in the bore. If the problem happened all at once that is a probability. The shifts are done by electrical solenoids. Did you check fuses? Does the backup alarm work, if so the electrical is most likely ok. If the problem began and gradually got worse before quitting completely the charge pump may have failed. If you think that is a possibility, remove the PS filter and cut it apart and see if it is loaded with metal. If you have a good Case utility dealer that sells a lot of hoes you should contact him, his service people have the tools and knowledge to repair it.The valve must be removed, repaired and reinstalled if it is the snap ring failure. It is a job that requires maximum cleanliness and some knowledge of the system to diagnose, the parts are available as a kit with the required parts and gaskets for the snap ring problem. mEl
