The main frame on those is on solid piece of cast that goes from the front of the radiator all the way to the rear axle. It is also the lower main-bearing mounts on the engine. The engine sits cross-ways so there are only straight cut gears used through-out. If you lift the block off of the frame the crankshaft is still mounted on the frame. Weird!
The flywheel is internal on the right hand side of the crank with the clutch and first reduction drive hooked to it.
The transmission is behind the engine inside of the main frame it is a 2speed forward with 1 reverse it uses Hyatt roller bearings. The clutch is Twin-Disk hand operated. The engine if goverened at high idle only.
There are alot of neat ideas used on these Cases. Like you can adjust the oil pressure from the outside of the engine. You can lock the rear wheels together with a bolt. There are 2 throttle plates in the manifold. one for the governor to control and one to manually control for idleing. The manifold is fully adjustable to control the amount of heat neaded to run on Kerosene. I have had mine running at 0 degrees and is ran just fine no carburator icing!
It weights around 4500Lbls.

Ahh! A 12-20 Crossmotor Case. Well what exactly do you want to know about one? I have spent the last 3 years going through a basket case that had no single part free on it to a great runner. I left mine in natural unrestored patina. What are they worth? Good question! Bobcat
