1938 CC Case Magneto

Was wondering what brand of magneto originally came on a '38 CC case, and what other magnetos will work in place of the original. Also, what is the original color numbers. I'm assuming the color is a dark gray and the rims are red or orange. Thanks for your time, Brian

I think Case started making their own magneto in 1940. Before that, they used Bosch. Any base mount, with the right rotation, mounting pattern, and coupler style will work. A lot of people use the Case mag. Heres the Bosch mag they used around 1930.

American Bosch magnetos were original equipment on the C up until 1938. I do not know exactly when Case magnetos became original equipment

Case produced their own magnetos. I'm not sure if any other brand would work, since it is a base mount style.

I can't help much on the colors.
