hello new to this forum i just purchased a case 1394 sight unseen anyway the tractor runs great, but the hydraulics are having a problem i replaced the suction filter and checked the high pressure filter now i have good pressure to the 2 assesory spools but the 3 point hitch wont raise can anyone help in trouble shooting this problem. i see the high pressure line comes up to the bottom of the trans then tees over to the pressure filter. dont know where to start? are the aftermarket manuals any good? thanks in advance!

Check the position of the dump valve and 4 way selector valve are set correct for hitch operation.

i can only see 1 line coming back rear it goes into a block on the bottom of transmission and then tees over to the high pressure filter. i see a flat head screw on the block? the line goes from the filter over to the remote valve housing. mine is set up with the three point lever closes to the drivers seat the the 2 remote levers. theres a hitch speed valve below all of this that looks like a knob that you screw in or out?

The 1394 has a front mounted hydraulic pump, right? This is actually a twin chamber pump. If it does there are almost certainly TWO high pressure lines come up from underneath the tractor on the RH side. They both go to a plate under the remote valve(s) called a combining valve. That plate has in it a very hard to push/pull spool that 1) send both pumps flow to the remotes or 2) sends one pump flow to the hitch and the other pump flow to the remote. Before you pull the two screws out inside the axle housing as described above - find that valve and try it in both positions. One position should slow down your remotes but give you hitch. If it is a cab tractor is can be hard to find, but it is there.

Sounds like a poppet valve plugged in the control valve. Look in book the valve is on rt side under cover held on with 2 screws. 2 screws underneath that have the valves under them. Carefully remove (magnetic screwdriver advised) and clean.Book is a little more detailed. HTH
