  It is a 6v autolite generator. The regulator on it is different though because the original one burn out and they, the generator shop, couldnt find an original one to replace it, so they riwired a different one that works just the same. This regulator, however, has 3 different tabs that a wire can go on. The one to the far left has a "F" on it and has a wire connected to it that comes out of the generator. The tab in the middle has a "BAT" on it, which I assume means to bring back to the battery, and the tab on the far right has a "L" on it, which I dont know what its for. Maybe it goes to the ammeter. Then there is another wire coming out of the generator that goes to a tab under the regulator. The battery cable that goes to the switch on the tractor has that small wire connector sticking out of the post clamp, for the newer tractors or maybe vehicles to bring charge back to the battery or something like that. So this is what I was thinking. A wire connects from the small wire sticking out of the battery post clamp to the "BAT" tab on the generator, which will charge the battery. The tab on the far right that has a "L" on it, which goes to the ammeter, which will monitor voltage and bring current to the light switch to turn the head lights on and off. Are you confused? I'm not really sure if I explained myself enough.
