I have a 1948 or so case tractor according to my father in law. I can"t find any model #"s on it. the tool box is missing as well as the instrument cluster. Any easy way to identify it? I would like to restore it but having a hard time finding pictures of it to help me identify it.

Thanks for any help.

Brett

Hey Guys.....finally got back to this project. The serial number was right where you said it would be #DC4805977 I assume the 48 is the year and the 5977 number for this production unit? How do I find a manual or book on this tractor? And if I need to find intake & exhaust manifolds or other restoration parts...where should I look?

thank you
Brett

Try the flange at the rear of the engine block on the left side. Look for a stamped serial #

Also posting a picture here would help

Not a clear picture- but here's where it is on mine... stamped into the left (driver's) side of the engine flange:

After you get the number folks can help you determine the model year.
