I am looking at a tractor to buy. The decals on the side of the hood say Case 430. The serial number tag on the dashboard is stamped with the model number 440 and the serial number. The tractor has a gas engine, wide front(tubular axle), power steering, 3PT hitch, live power, and the rear tires are 12._ x 24 size. How old is this tractor(approx.), how many HP, and is it a 430 or a 440? I am curious as to what the differences are between the two. I noticed that manuals are available for both models from this website. I don't know much about Case tractors as I am a Farmall guy but this tractor is for my dad and it looks like a pretty sturdy unit. It needs a few minor things and one of the steering cylinders leaks but the price is right. Thanks in advance for your responses. MARK
