Was rereading my Case tractors buyer's guide second addition and under the 500 series they show the model 500 standard gas/diesel and a 520 industrail version. Also in the first addition it say's the following:The 500 was effectively an uprated and improved LA but now with gas,LPG, or six cylinder diesel options. So my question is did they make a six cylinder gas 500 ??? Is that what the 520 industrail tractor was??? Can any of you 500 Case lovers set me straight on this
Thanks, Tom H

The 520 was the industrial version of the 500. Same goes for 620 and 920 (Ind. 600 and 900). The 20 series had rear weights that usually has "Case 520" cast into the weight. An example is on a 920 in the book "Case GP Tractors" on page 104. The odd style chin weights are also shown along with the clevis mounted below the brake drums. The thing you can't see here is the 520 used a extremely heavy, I-Beam front axle about twice the size of the ag tractor. The 520 sits lower than the ag tractor. Another option was welded heavy guage steel fenders reinforced by angle iron but these aren't really common. MH
