I am working on 1737 uniloader with bad engine. Engine in it is an A201G. Finding it hard to find rebuild kit. I understand that the original motor was a G148B. Questions: Does anyone know a good source for Case engine rebuild kits? Is the 148 an original equipment motor for a 1737? What are the horsepower and torque values for the 148, so I know what a repower engine would need if I can't find a kit or another Case engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I bought a pair 1737/1740 a few years ago, and almost picked up a third at the same time. All three were missing motors. I guggest breaking out the welders. I have a friend that has a 3.8 v6 in his and I am working on a buick odd fire swap. I had a 1.8 4cly for a while but it didn't have enough umph to stay running. I hear that a 2300 ford sprint motor works nice also.

The G148B puts out about 100 ft/lbs of torque--not quite sure when that occurs on the power curve.

This is not about the 1737 but I couldn't find another place to try for an answer. My brother needs an owners manual for his 1989 Case 1840 uniloader. I'm trying to help him and haven't been very successful. He needs settings that stickers on the tractor refer to the owners manual.
