I am a young restorer with a pair of Case SC's. Currently, I cannot get one of them to fire on all four cylinders. I have ran a compression test, the spark plug is good and getting spark, and the manifold is on tight. The tractor runs, but rarely hits on number 3. Please, anyone with knowledge, feel free to give me some advice! The other tractor has similar problems, but we should focus on just one at a time. Thanks.

I ran into something similar on my SC. I had gotten some AC 45 plugs, but they were AC 45 R. I dont think the mag works too well with the resistor style plug. Switched to a plain Champion, J8 I think and smoothed right out

Theo, Can you give us the compresion on all 4 cly. sounds like low comp. from bad rings or a valve. Run the comp. test then put a cap full of oil in one of the cyls. then check the comp. on that cyl. repeat on the other 3 and tell us your readings. Jonathan (JJK Salvage)
