Well I've been working on the VAC that my dad gave me last summer. When I got it, the VAC was a basket case. When I back it up there was a clanking, banging, jerking that was really rough. Well I finally took the PTO off and looked inside the rearend. The main drive gear on one side had a tooth missing, it's at the machine shop being repaired right now. The two smaller gears each have a tooth with a chip out of them. I should have them repaired but I'm wondering if the small chips will make a difference? My next major project is the transmission, it looks like there may be a couple of worn or broken gears in it. Off to my pet project.
