What are the differences between the 2470-2670 vrs
4490-4690 vrs the 4494-4694. What improvements were made as they changed models?

Wow now thats a tough one. 2470 to 4490 the 4490 received electronic steering for the rear, and a few more ponies and an electronic hitch for the draft control. The 4494 received an improved electronic hitch and computer dash that did just about everything except tell you when its time to go home for supper. The biggest improvement from a maintenance standpoint was the 4490 and newer received the fiberglass hood and the hood would tilt for servicing. The 90 series also got a quieter cab with a better stereo system and hyd suspension seat. The 2670-4690-4694 had basically the same upgrades. The Canadiens can correct me on this but I think it was the 90 series that started the Canadien series, where the cab had more insulation and larger batteries just to name a few items. Anyway you look at it though, these were nice units. When I worked at the Deere dealership I used to tell them how nice the Case tractors were all the time. One time they thought they would get back at me by making me work on a Case 2470 in the back corner of the shop where you need a two wheel drive tractor with turning brakes to get into the stall. I promptly turned that situation around by putting the Case in four wheel steer and slipped into that stall with no problem. I guess I had forgotten to tell them earlier how maneuverable those units were with the four wheel steering.
