Just got my DC-3 on the 4th and hooked up a 6 foot bush hog to it - didn't have anti-sway chains and the deck swung around and climbed up the tread on my rear right tire. It bent my lift arms (which I straightened) and some other unimportant stuff but also bent the pto shaft a little bit (what is a little bit?) It appears to be straight where it goes into the case so only part of the protruding shaft is bent - is there a way for me to get this straightened on the tractor? Do I have to pull the whole thing? Do I even need to straighten it? Please help !!!

Exasperated,

Chris Hibbert

Sounds like you need tractor with ROPS, and maybe use a chain saw on the trees before you run over them with that bush hog...

That OLD DC maybe something that can not be tore up but you may not be so tough..

Go easy and play it safe....

Thanks for the words of wisdom - it's funny how much I have learned in just a few days of having this old girl!

Don't even try to straighten your shaft. Get a different one. If it is not true you will wreck something. Does your 1951 have live power? They started making them with live power and eagle hitch in late 1951. I know cause I have one! If you don't have live power a different shaft will be ez to come by. If you do have live power it will be a little harder to find, but they are out there. Good Luck
