We had a 1570 once. We didn't really like it that well though. Case's powershift couldn't hold a candle to John Deere's. All the 70 series Case's I drove were shaky, jerky, and jumpy. The transmission finally went out on it and we spent about $7000 having a 2590 Case transmission put into it. Dad was always afraid of getting it out of the shed. He was scared of it after that transmission spell. Deere had a nice smooth powershift, even in the 4020. That 1570 had a damn good motor, and nice snappy hydraulics though, and a nicer, quieter cab than a 6030. But I would go with the 6030. Much more reliable transmission. Yes you only have an eight speed synchro range transmission, but as I said before, it is extremely reliable. In the end we traded off the old 1570, on a 4640 John Deere.

If you are going to do some heave duty farming and have some hills or wet land you would love the power shift for changing on the go. The 6030 might be a little more thirsty if you work it. Plus if you buy the 1570 you can restore it some day and put the Spirit paint job on it. If you just want to brag about having a big tractor sitting in the front yard get what ever looks the best sitting there.

If you want style go with a JD, if you want something that will start run all day, and run some more, and pull then a Case is your beast.

In my book there is no question. The deere has to be priced lower, and in much better shape.

Green paint causes health problems (it makes the brain soft)....

6030 JD, 175 pto hp, 13,323 lbs, 531 ci

1570 Case, 180 pto hp, 13,011 lbs, 504 ci.

The Case had a nicer cab than the 6030 and can probably be bought cheeper. The book says the 6030 has an 8-spd tranny where as the Case has a 4 and 3 partial powershift(4-ranges, 3 powershifts in each range). Don't know much about the 6030 but I've been around quit a few 1370 Cases and the are pretty tough.

are those hp ratings from a book. if they are the 1570 my uncle had was turning about 200 hp and it wasn't turned up. cases are underrated. the 1570 would be easier to work on. it just depends on what kind of shape they are in but even if the engine was stuck on the 1570 i would still pick if because you could break it lose and run it thats what my dad did to the 1070. it was stuck he broke it lose rebuilt the pump and started it. but its what ever you like better and feel more comfortable on.
