2 'V' series CASE questions

It is my understanding that the VC had the Continental flathead motor and the VAC had the overhead valve Case motor. Does anyone know which of the other Case "V" series tractors were built with the Continental flathead engine and which were built with the overhead valve Case motor?
Question 2 is: should the "V" series serial numbers be stamped into the left hand side, curved flange where the motor meets the bellhousing (like it is on the D and S series.) or is it somewhere else on the V series rigs? Thanks, -Mark

Thanks for the info on which models had which motor. The reason I ask about the Serial Number location is because the dash plate is gone. The guy that has it said there's a stamp somewhere that says "VTI", but I've never heard of such a model, and I haven't seen it in person, myself.

My VAS is a 52' and it has an overhear engine, and the ser. no. is on a plate on the dash below steering wheel
