I pulled in the 4000# Antique I class against 9 other tractors (3 other C Cases). I was right at 4000# according to their scale. I don’t think their scale was working properly because on the scale at one of our mills we were at 4420#. I’m not real familiar with the way they weighed all the tractors. The scale was only about 3’ x 8’ and they first weighed the front and then the back. Anyone know how that works? Anyways, I’m not sure how much weight was on the sled but I pulled it 176 feet. The tractor missed a little bit but I think that’s because the carb was set too rich. She pulled like a top until right about the end when the front-end shot up. The big tires in the back didn’t slip at all. Which is good because we can move some of the weight up front. I got beat out by 2 souped up Oliver 70s. They were the kind of tractors that have big sponsors on the sides, aluminum weight brackets everyplace, and wheelie bars in the back. Plus they were running alcohol so I feel pretty good that we beat out all the other “stock” tractors. I had a great time and learned what I need to do for the next pull. Yesterday we put the decals on and that really classed the tractor up. I didn’t get any pictures of that, but I’ve got one of the pull! Pete H.
