Is there a way to put a 3 point hitch on an SC? Is there a kit available, or does anyone know of a way to do it?

Steve,

Here's a photo of how we adapted to a 3-point setup on my '49 SC. (Apologies for the unfinished web site)

C. Amick is right- starting off with an SC that has the hydraulic lifting bail makes things a lot simpler...

Mike: Nice setup. Can you pick up the bush hog in transport mode i.e. get the tail wheel off the ground?? Using the eagle hitch on my DC I can't get the rear end of the hog or finish mower up in the air.

Paul,

Yes, I can pick up the brush hog and drive around. As you can see, we had to put some extensions on the top arms to get the geometry of the top link right. The only problem is that it comes up high enough to bend my SMV sign in half!

The great thing about the "tabs" welded onto the lifting bail is that you can pull the pins, slide the lifting arm extensions off, and you've got your normal lift bail.

Mike, do you have any more pictures. It looks like the same idea will work on my 1950 DC3.

Thanks

- Dave

Does your tractor have a lifting bail on the back of it? I have a 1949 model with a lifitng bail. I figured out how I was going to add a 3 point hitch and bought the materials, but that's as far as I have gotten. I plan to add a second hydraulic cylinder to the right side and pin the 3 point hitch arms to the lifting bail arms.
