I have a Case 211B, that's right a 211B, that I bought with a farm several years ago. It's a good running little tractor that I use mainly for mowing. Seems there were very few of these made. Most Case dealers look at me funny when I try to get parts. Can anyone tell me a little more about these tractors. I have only seen one other one, which had been restored and sold for $8000.

Scott, there were 1,078 built in 1958 and 481 in 1959. I just bought a 511B from Tom Jones, who has advertised on this site, who also has 211B for sale, if it's not already sold. Tom can tell you a lot about the tractor since he has done a complete restoration. (I found him to be a very honest, helpful, pleasant person to do business with.) A close friend of mine is looking for a 211B but can't afford the price at this time. It was a great little tractor.

I just partially restored a 1958 311-B which I assume is a similar tractor. Definately a nice little tractor.

The 311B is the bigger brother to the 211B. Seems to be a few more of them around, or at least you see more of them in the ads etc.. You are right, they are a tough little unit. I have used mine now for 6 years, and haven't done anything except routine maintenence. I am probably going to pull the engine apart this winter. It runs smooth, doesn't smoke or use much oil, but it doesn't have the power it should have. I suspect some valve or head problems that are causing me to lose compression. Definitely have to wait till mowing season is over.
