I just bought my first Case tractor. I think it's a DC-4. It has a wide front end. It has a hitch on the back that may be an Eagle Hitch and I was hoping someone could tell me how to modify it for cat. 1, 3-pt implements. The hitch has a lower pin mount bar which is pivot mounted under the bell housing. Just above that, there is a U-shaped bar that pivots up and down. There is also a "tang" on the left side where a hydraulic cylinder could attach (there is a mating "tang" under the axle). The tractor also has a hydraulic pump under the PTO with two hoses. It runs great and we converted it to 12vdc, so no more cranking! Any suggestions for using it to hog down some brush? Thanks.

Sounds like that U shaped bar is the Two Point "lifting ball" that came on the older "1951 and earler" tractors. So the 3 point arms are probably an add on. If you can get the serial number (under the battery on the dash) it will help to pin point what year of tractor where dealing with. :)

Chris: I sent you an email with some pictures of eagel hitches. Also look at the 24 July reply (page 3)posted by Mike Schotte he has good photo and info on 3 pt hitch conversion.

THAT'S IT!! The picture is fantastic. Mine appears to be missing the top link mount and hydraulic ram. There is currently a shroud around the PTO and the hydraulic lines are attached to the sides of that. We can weld up a mount and I'll ask Mike S. if he has any drawings of his. Now I need to get the spec's for the hydraulic ram. Where can I get the pin to pin/stroke/diameter sizing? Also, do you happen to know what to do with the calcium in the tires? Can we just drain that stuff onto the ground, or is that a hazzard? We'd like to lighten the tractor since we're only going to be doing light duty stuff with it.

Thanks!

If you live on a dirt road the calcium solution will keep the dust down.

Check with your local tire store that sells agricultural tires. They may give you some cash for the Calcuim you want to get rid of. They did for us when we drained our loaded tires. Either way, I wouldn't drain it out on the ground.

Thanks for the comments guys. I found the serial number for the unit 5518058DC. I'm going to post some photo's of it. If we can get the 3pt. attachments to work, we're going to use it for light plowing (1- Bottom) and bush hogging. It's a neat toy. Slowly we'll get her back in condition as well. I'll check with the local ag tire boys to see if they want the calcium. I know it will kill most all the growth in the area where we drain it, so it can't be good.
