The left brake on my newly purchased dozer does not move. If I remove the line to the valve body, the pedal moves. The adjuster bolt on the park brake is run all the way in. Does this mean I need to put a new clutch pack in it? Also, how hard is it to reseal the track adjusters? The right brake works and the adjuster bolt is run only half way in. I can steer it by running one track in high gear and the other in low. Does running it like this do any harm to it?

Do you have torque specs for the outer seal on the sprocket shaft on the final drive?

Using high and low track speeds is the proper way to steer your crawler, that is the advantage of the Case crawler transmission over others that you have to kill the power to one track to turn. You only use the brakes to spin turn, they were not disigned to use all the time to steer the crawler. Yes, if the adjustment is run all the way in you will have to rebuild the brake. To repack a track adjuster you will need to remove it and pull the piston all the way out to instal a new seal, and wear ring.

Thanks for the reply. This is my first dozer and I have a lot to learn.
