I'm rebulding my Case SC. I found a really good head and manifold at a local salvage yard. Does anybody know where I can find an in-frame rebuld kit? I can get most of what I need from the local Case dealer, but not a kit. The push rod and main bearings are still in good shape as well as the crank, but I think I could get the whole kit for about the same price as sleeves, rings, and a gasket set. My pistons are aluminum so someone may have worked on it before(thought early SC's had cast) The s/n is 503279SC, head casting is 5617A, and block is 5600A. Anyone help?

Don, we rebuilt a '53 SC last winter-got all the parts we needed from our local Pronto & NAPA auto parts stores except for the mains. (Don L @ Austin Mn. had those.) We couldn't find a kit & C-IH wanted $100 ea for sleeves-w/pistons extra. They didn't have sets. Why not just re-ring it? Those sleeves are tough, & unless they're rusted through from the water side, I'd just take out the ring groove, hone 'em, & put in a set of rings. You can get the "O" rings from NAPA, if you need them. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Unless you want used parts you have to buy them individually from your Case dealer. Checked about 2 years ago, was about $1000.00 with no bearings. Finding NOS is difficult. If you have aluminum pistons check your bore, it's probably 3 5/8" , if so, it's been rebuilt before, original for a 41 would be 3 1/2" and cast pistons. No one makes a kit that I could find.
