My Operator's manual doesn't show where the radiator drain cock is located on my 1948 Case SC tractor. It says it is on the lower left side of the radiator, but I cannot seem to find it. Do you have to crawl under the tractor to get to it? I'd like to turn it off so that I can fill the radiator and try to get the old girl running after 12 years of sitting in a shed.

Dave, the radiator drain is on the left side & drains the coolant out of the water pump, just on the engine side, from the lower radiator hose. It should have a 4" long piece of pipe on it that gets the drain down where you can see it. If this piece of pipe is gone, there may be just a plug in the water pump elbow, way up in there, hard to see.
You will probably need a creeper & a good flashlight to find it.

Bruce, thanks so much for your replies to both of my posts in this forum, you have helped me out a lot. I'm really hoping to get this old tractor going again...my grandfather bought it new and my mom used it growing up on the farm. It's nice to know that I can come here for help when I need it, which will probably be pretty often. Thanks again.

Dave
