I may need to adjust the valves on my 1980 Case 580C with a 207D engine. Outside of knowing I need to remove the valve cover and use a feeler gauge to set the valve clearance, I'm in the dark. I would be very grateful for any advice I can get--Thanks!

First get a service manual, that way you will know which valves to adjust when #1 is at TDC and which ones to adjust when #4 is at TDC. If I remember correctly its the first three at #1 then every other one working towards the rear and then its the last three and every other one working forward. Intake = 0.012 and exhaust = 0.014 with the engine cold.
