where you in first gear? It should spin out before it dies. Any fluid in the tires? What weight class were you in ?

If you want a chance make sure your drawbar is as high as his. I have cousin with a LA LP and 1st time out got 1st in 9500 stock class.

what year is your la, earlier la's had a faster low gear than later models. deeres do better a tractor pulls as a rule for one reason, they are slow. if you have the chance, get this r to farm against your la for a day and then see the difference in how many more acres the la covered.
remember, horsepower is lbs pull AND SPEED while pulling is just pull.

Then I MUST make the "highest draw bar of them all". Actually I went with a home made height increasing device to add 4 inches, but the monstrous hook wouldn't fit in it so I had to go straight off with a clevis. Will use the low draw bar and out of whack governor adjustment that I failed to notice as an excuse for loss till next time! Thinking of adding fire-works down muffler for a showwy pull next time,to psych out that evil "R"...!!!

Make yourself a clevis lip to bolt on top of the drawbar with a piece of flatbar and a 2" piece of square stock. Then make as many flatbar spacer to sit on top of the drawbar to get your height. Works on my Case short drawbars

Just my thoughts.. I think the ones that win in tractor pulls are the tractors that are the best running or have had the most money spent on them...

A JD had a low low gear but Case's had much more torque.

If your Case tractor stalls out before you spin the tires and throw some dirt you to work on it.
