I'm new to Case tractors but have found an 830 Deisel for about $2500 and was wondering if these tractors had any problems and if this sounded like a fair price. I intend to use this tractor mostly for haying and think it would work quite nicely. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jacob

The 30 series are very good tractors. That's a good price for a diesel if it's in good shape, escpecially if it's a widefront. Brakes and the powersteering are it's weakpoints but not useually emough of a concern to keep from buying one. 301 cubic inch 4 cylinder, about 60 horse, made from 60'-69'. Comfort King versions(higher operators platform, taller fuel tank, and nicer seat) were made from 64'-69'. I baled two cuttings of hay this year for a neighbor with his 830 diesel, not a single glitch at 5K+ hours.

Thanks for the input Alan. The tractor I'm looking at is a wide front comfort king. I was wondering is this tractor heavy enough to move a round bale with a three point bale spike?

The 830 will lift a round bale on a spike no problem. They are a heavy built tractor when compared to the competition.
