I forgot to include this-

If you want a good page for specs on the model SC, check out Jeff Grodey's page:

(He's the one that got me excited about restoring my tractor when I couldn't find anything on the Internet about SC's.)

From the Seventh Edition of the Case Model "S" Series Operator's Manual:

Low gear on the Model SC with 10-38 tires was 2-1/2 m.p.h.

I don't have any literature that speaks to horsepower- but a quick search of the archives on this site turns up the following (from other posters) :

"Nebraska Tractor test no.496, a 1953 Casc SC run on gasoline, with a 3-5/8 bore and 4" stroke produced 29.68 brake hp, and 22.41 hp on the drawbar."

I'm not sure when the larger displacement engine came along for the SC- but I'm betting this '53 had it.

I don't have any info on the horsepower ratings of the earlier SC tractors, but I'd be interested to know myself, as I've got a '49.

Looks like the first test of the SC was rated at 21.62 max brake horsepower, 16.18 drawbar hp, with 3,166 max drawbar pull. Test number 367, 3 1/2 x 4 inch engine low-cost fuel equipped (distillate). I would think gas would bump these numbers up a bit...
