Still looking for info and where to buy engine parts etc to restore this interesting 1948 D. The serial number is 5218899 D. I was told it has a blown #3 cylinder. The way the serial numbers are listed (grouped)I have no idea how many were made or what the value may be. I have not seen any listed for sale. Thanks for your help.

Bob, is it a straight D or a DC? Don't have many D's in our area, but there is a DC "for restoration" advertised in the local paper for $500. (Been advertised for a couple of weeks.) Last DC we bought, we paid $200 for. It is a '53 w/eagle hitch, has both brakes on right side, but has a hand clutch. It had a crack in the block. We used JB weld to patch the block & have been using it for the past several years. It's engine is strong. We'er in south-central SD. Hope this gives you some ideas. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Only know what the serial number showed in the Case s/n section on this site and what I was told when I bought it. Not even sure what difference in a D or DC. Never had a Case before but it has character and I liked the looks of it. Hope I can find everything to restore it reasonably priced. Bob

Case dealer should have parts you need. I just got engine parts for a DC with no problem.
