I am back with another question on the 900 I'm working on after it has set for twenty something yrs. The clutch is in and working. After getting 3 plungers in the injector pump loose and having the injectors rebuilt, it starts and runs. The problem is, it smokes like the devil and blows a thin black liquid out the exhaust. I can't tell if it is oil or fuel. I let it run for 30 minutes or so and ther is no change in smoke or blowing liquid. What does this sound like to you mechanics. Thanks

Interesting. I've seen this happen to bulldozers before and it is usually caused by the valves

When it was running did you look in the radiator to see if you had any bubbles. What color is the smoke??. Reason asked is I have a 800 that was blowing black liquid type out the exhaust and it tastes like antifreeze. If your blowing black smoke sounds like maybe pump may not be set right, white smoke indicates water in the cylinders. Keep us informed.
