I am looking at buying a '52 DC but it doesn't have fenders or a hood. I believe the magneto is shot and the clutch is locked up. Is $500 a good price for this tractor and where can I find the missing body panels and parts. I have located a clutch kit, just need to come up with magneto parts or distributor conversion kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's a nice, cheap hood and magneto on Ebay right now... just don't bid on the seat and carburetor from the same seller that I want! (grin)

The hood on e-bay is not correct for a 1952 DC, but it will fit.

Hi Bruce,

What's the difference between the '50 hood on Ebay and the '52 DC hood that he's looking for? Are you referring to the dual fuel holes?

I've got a perfect hood on my '49 DC that looks just like the one in the auction... but my tractor isn't dual fuel equipped, either. I've been wondering if someone replaced the hood on me, or if all the gasoline model hoods still had the "extra" holes in them.

Regards, -Mike

Mike: I have a 54 DC3 that is a gas only and I have the extra hole.

The hole for dual fuel is not the deal. The difference is where the rear of the hood bolts to the tractor. The one shown in the picture is attached with two bolts. The hood has threads in it to receive the bolts. A hood for a 1952 DC has studs in this location & the hood's bottom edge is not straight between these two bolts. It is curved, shaped like an archway. Bruce
