I'm about ready to put decals on a 400 case. Where does the "400" decal go? I have seen some pictures with it directly under the case decal on the hood and others with it on the side panel that holds the radiator. This is a diesel (not a super diesel). Should there be a diesel decal on this tractor?

Scott-

I've been working on this one too, my '56 400 had the "Case" and "diesel" decals on the front of the hood and the "400" just in front of the hood mating area on the radiator support sheetmetal just below the rib that runs lengthwise along the side of the hood. In actual ads for Case 400s dated in 1957 it was the same. Pictures of the 1955 400's look like the "400" decal is directly under the "Case" and "diesel" decals on the hood. I have a picture of a 400 that looks like a preproduction prototype that was painted all flambeau red and had the 3 long horizontal stripes running along the length of the hood behind the "Case" decal like the DC and SC, just for a little tidbit of knowledge...did I answer your question???

Pat

Thanks for the info. Sounds like there is several varibles as to how the decals go. I'll put them on whichever way looks good to me.
