Can anybody recommend an alcohol based antifreeze that won't hurt the motor if it gets in the oil or cylinders. Just rebuilt my tractor 1st rebuild job for me and don't want to take any chances.

Put one half pint Power Up in your motor oil and the engine will not seize even if it get antifreeze in the motor oil. It is some super stuff!

Why do you want an alcohol? If I recall correctly alcohol bases are RV plumbing antifreexe. These would not contain rust inhibitors to protect your block and would volatilize out at operating temps.

I used to use Prestone in all my gas and diesel engines. For the past 5 or 6 years I've just used Zerex or Napa brand. Some of the on road diesels and big tractor (200+hp) call for some special stuff and wet sleeves need an anticavitation additive. All your automotive antifreezes will be either propolene or ethylene glycol, any in a 50-50 mix will do fine.

NOTHING, alcohol or otherwise will be good for your engine if it's in the oil or combustion chamber. I always use water only on break in (4 hrs) then change the oil and put in a 50/50 antifreeze /water mix. Then change the oil again at 10 and 50 hrs. Then 150 from there on and change coolant every 2 years. Never had any problems.
