I recently bought a Case 1030 Western-Style in
Nebraska and put it in a container and shipped back to Denmark. Does anybody know what the
engine-torque is on that tractor. It has the Case
6-cylinder 451 cu.in dieselengine.
Hope somebody knows, Jens Andersen, Denmark

Here's how you can figure it out every time. Or get real close. Take the PTO horsepower rating, lets say 105 (I am not sure what it is) and understand that this is measured at 540 rpm,(or real near there, I said we would get close). So horsepower equals torque x RPM divided by 5252. So if we work our math skills we know that torque equals, 5252 x HP divided by RPM (540). So 5252 x 105 = 551460, then divde by 540=1021, so this tractor will make 1021 ft. lbs of torque at the pto. Now your engine is turning much faster and the torque is being multiplied through the geartrain. Figure out what this ratio is , between engine RPM & PTO rpm & divide the 1021 ft, lbs. by this factor. This will get you your engine torque, except for what is uued up between the engine and pto, (geartrain). Hope this helps.
