Just wondering what all the possible
causes are? It seems to backfire and loose
power more under load, while at idle it
can maintain rpms.

I have tried draining the gas, changing the
coil, spark plugs. The dist rotor seems
a liitle loose, I was thinking maybe the timing
advance springs. Is there a way to test those
without removing the points/condensor and what not. Also, could a flakey condensor
cause this problem?

Any thoughts would be helpful,

-Greg

Hi, twopop is probably correct. Just wanted to add you can watch the advance with a timing light. Set initial timing with a test light and set total timing with a timing light at full rpm. Dont have spec's in front of me but can find them if you cant....Dennis....
