I entered my Case in a pulling contest at a local power show. I was only able to pull the sled a few feet before burying my rear wheels in the sand. I took first prize since my tractor was the only one entered in its class.

However, the problem is that something went wrong in the differential. The jams up almost like a spider gear problem. Would you know of a good repair manual for this tractor that would give me an illustration of the differential parts.

Thanks Robert

sounds like you could have broken either a ring gear or the gear on the end of the axle. not the end of the world. i have fixed a few of these myself. but for further reference a vac is not a good choice for tractor pulling. not real strong in the rearend for that. break it loose between the tranny and rear end and if it is the ring gear youll have to pull the brakes.

I pulled a VAI for years. We used a 300 series engine with oversized pistons and sleeves, oversized carb and intake, and tight govenor spring. We turned about 40 hp @1400 rpm. We never had a problem with our rearend. We did have some problems with the officials and the dynamometer, hence we don't pull stock class anymore.
