Hello Mike! Your 770 Case has a case built 267 cubic inch engine. Parts are readily avaible through you local Case dealer, Tisco, or other engine supply companies. I Just replaced the head gaskets on one for a customer at the shop I work at and the tractor dyno at 68.5 hp! The powershift transmission can,t be beat if it was taken care of. Have a Case service man check you pressure after you get it running to save on slipping the bands(very bad). Also if you are going to rebuild the engine MAKE SURE that you check the bushings in the balencer box. If these are worn they could cause the crankshaft to break!!! I know it sounds bad but If done correctly you will have a handy little tractor. BTW I just rebuilt the engine on my 1030ck, so I have been there recently! Have a good day!

It would be a great little tractor and the parts should be avalible. if it has the power shift you will love it. no griding gears going into reverse. you just have to know how to use it. we have a 1070 with powershift and i like it.

I own a case 770 and would not recomend it to anyone. With the cab it weighs about 10000 lbs. and has a 65hp engine that even after being turbocharged is the weakest tractor I own. If it is a powershift I would really stay away from it. If you want a good 70 series tractor find an 870. They are truely over achievers in their hp class (70 to 80). I have an 830 case that will run circles around my slow and sluggish 770.

The Case 770 would make a green tractor of equivalent size a little piece of snot. I am confident to say they were one of the best tractors built. Not changing engine oil is hard on the balancer.

We have had two 770 Case Agri-Kings on the farm over the last thirty years. No question that pound for pound, HP for HP, the strongest, most trouble free tractors ever made. It's a 267 inch diesel- same as the 730 series. Parts should be readily available and easy to repair. For the most part it is the same tractor as a 730 Comfort King, only with the square Agri-King style metal.
