Where do the wires go from the alternator, to the amp gauge and back to the battery or what???

Zach , If memory serves me right ,you need to run your wire that comes from the battery to the amp gauge then to the alternator. Hope this helps .

I forgot you said "alternator" and not "generator". Obviously, that wiring diagram is for the original wiring layout and 6V battery.

Someone else will have to help you with the 12V conversion wiring.
