I have a Case 1030 that I have too use either to start it everytime, evan if it 90 deg. But after you start it the first time it will start without either, if it is still warm. Is this normal for this tractor?

Are your pre-heaters working? If it starts when warm maybe they are not getting enough juice.

I have a 1030 with 4000 hours on it. At 32 Fahrenheit degrees I have to preheat it for 45 sec.

Hello Andrew! I have a 1030 also that I just rebuilt because of cracked sleeves. This tractor started just fine this past fall if I preheated it for 15 seconds. During my rebuild I was informed my a case mechanic to pop test my injectors. Injectors that "leak down" or "pop" at to low a pressure will cause hard starting. Also if the powercell on the other side of the cylinder head are full of carbon, ignition can not occur easily! Is your starter spinning fast enough? Is your battery test good, hold a charge? I would go after the starter first unless you are certain it is fine, then the injectors, and finaly the powercells. Remember that the powercells have to be lapped in after removal. ALLWAYS! I have an 830ck, a 930ck, and now a 1030ck and all start fine unless it is below freezing. Hope this helped

no this is not normal.the only 1030 i ever saw that needed ether had very low compression.does the engine smoke and have a lot of blowby? does it use a lot of oil? if the answer to these questions is no,then i would suspect the injectors are stopped up and your not getting a good spray pattern.

i have a 1030 comfort king also. it is a really nice and good running tractor but when it is cold out it doesnt start well at all. if i plug the block heater in for about two hours then it starts good but i think on mine it has something to do with the timing on the fuel pump.
